Show Us What You Love! is the first album for Wisconsin string band, Gold Standard, recorded in the early months of 2026 at TRS Recording Studio in Oshkosh, WI. Jason Goessl engineered and co-produced the twelve track release with the four member band: Kate Stenson, vocals and violin, Loren Dempster, vocals and cello, Ian Moore, vocals and bass and Gregg Daigle vocals and guitar. We made this to capture our evolving sound so it's a snapshot and a shot in the dark, but mainly we hope you love this music as much as we've come to love playing these songs. They're our bread and butter every night we get out there and we'd love to hear you singing 'em back to us at a festival near you as our little caravan of hope rolls on, day upon splendid day

Gold Standard is excited to release their first EP with their signature blend of bluegrass, R&B and pop - making it look easy, sounding smooth and getting folks on the dance floor. Lead by Wisconsin native Kate Stenson’s sultry vocals and hot violin, these three tracks ring out with harmony and break down into playful string adventures featuring Northeast Wisconsin legends, Gregg Daigle and Loren Dempster. Originally from Virginia, Ian Moore writes many of the songs and holds down bass duties. Through layered vocal harmonies, catchy duet riffs, and playful lyrics, Gold Standard takes listeners on an uplifting journey. Ian and Loren have played together previously and recruited Kate and then Gregg to form Gold Standard to play original acoustic music.
Kate Stenson is a Northeast Wisconsin based violinist and vocalist who performs originals and covers in a mixture of R&B, Pop, and Jazz genres. She specializes in performing with a looper pedal, making it hard to tell that she is only a solo act. She recently graduated from Lawrence University with a degree in Contemporary and Jazz Improvisation on violin & voice. www.katestensonmusic.com
Loren Kiyoshi Dempster is a cellist, songwriter and composer who makes accessible music with an experimental tinge. With his own brand of truth and authenticity he has created and performed with many collaborators, including BK Soul, projectLIMB, Uh Oh Trio, and Lower Left. He toured extensively with Merce Cunningham Dance Company, performing Interscape and Biped. Loren teaches as an Instructor at Lawrence University, and as a guest artist at Renaissance High School. www.lorendempster.com
Ian Moore is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and founding member of several original Wisconsin bands: Trouvaille, Mother Tree, shrimpvision and Gold Standard. He fell in love with the bluegrass scene seeing the greats and jamming at summer festivals around Wisconsin and writes a lot of our songs in that spirit of community, fun and love. www.goldstandardbluegrass.com
Gregg Daigle is a Wisconsin-based guitarist and multi-instrumentalist (banjo/mandolin). He spent 15 years fronting bands and has recorded three records. On this release, he focuses on rhythm guitar, chord color, and supportive lead lines—drawing from bluegrass, blues, and Brazilian/jazz influences.
