Attachment Panic by Bloodstar

Alt Country - Indie - Alternative

The album chronicles the first year of a newly open marriage, sung from the perspective of both the husband and wife – the jealousy, heartbreak, liberation and love. The music and lyrics are written by the husband and wife, and sung by one of their romantic partners. The music is haunting and vulnerable, dangling classic country & western cliches as bait into a soundscape of apocalyptic synths and contemporary psychodrama.

Artist Statement:

The pandemic pushed us towards opening our marriage and collaborating musically for the first time. These songs are a raw representation of love at the end of the world. We wanted it to sound like how we, and the world, felt. The fear, as old ways of living collapsed, and the excitement of trying to create something new from the chaos.

About Bloodstar:

Forged in pandemic-era experiments in love, Bloodstar showcases the soulful vocals of Aubrey Rachel Violet, the folky songwriting of Alex Stonehill, and the existentialist lyrics of writer and therapist Sarah Stuteville. The results are broody alt-country duets that explore desire, trauma, rebellion, and the mercurial intimacy between the three collaborators.
