Fun & Fancy (album) by Sundae + Mr. Goessl

Jazz-Nostolgic-Vocal-Easy Listening

“Fun & Fancy” is the sixth full-length studio album from Sundae & Mr. Goessl, "The Duo That Can Do No Wrong”. Their signature style on this thirteen-song album (split down the middle into “Fun” charts on the A-side and “Fancy” charts on the flip side) is both a delight and a breath of fresh air. Reminiscent of The Duo’s live touring shows, this album is more pared-back in arrangements than their 2018 release “When You’re Smiling” to showcase the dynamic vocals and cheeky melodica playing of Kate “Sundae” Voss, and the multi- faceted, virtuosic guitar playing of Mr. Jason Goessl with only few adornments. Packed with levity, heartbreak, and songs about the many stations of love, this album not only lets the listener enjoy what they might hear at Sundae & Mr. Goessl’s live shows, but also showcases two musical giants at the peak of their powers, whose ability to present cheek and charm with serious, mature artistry is second-to-none. Long-time listeners will hear the familiar Voss vibrato and Goessl tremolo throughout, but might not be familiar with some of the charts, as this album contains SIX original offerings by The Duo. Diverse as the artists’ abilities, these melodies span the musical spectrum: from the lighthearted opening burner “Darlene” to the poetically penned “2nd In Line”, a song of artistic heartbreak. We know you’ll love this 6th outing from Sundae & Mr. Goessl, and know that just like them, “Fun & Fancy” is the way to feel the music! --Jasper McCann
